@Spazdig Impressive results! AI got better at this faster than I expected. Seems like dating photography will become obsolete very soon.
Of course, I can spot defects in all the pics (some more obvious than others), but I was looking for them. A girl swiping on dating apps most likely won't...
@Adrizzle Interesting theory, can make sense, but as you said, we need more data points to prove that a guy with (good) smartphone pics do better on OLD in 2024 than a guy with pro pics.
This seems odd to me as the goal of having pro pics is to stand out. It has been proven to work many times...
Time for me to enter the chat lol.
Firstly, I think using AI to make dating pics is so stupid, because it's the genre of photography that needs the most candid and realistic look. You already don't want girls to think that the pics you put on a dating app are retouched, so imagine putting pics...
Yeah, your facial expression is much better in the new pics. Good job! However, you moved your camera closer to you so it's less obvious that you're drawing on these new pics. I would have kept the camera a bit further away to better frame the shots.
@mikkel What would help to decide is to see your current profile. We can debate on the usability of new pics all the time we want, but what matters is to see if it's an upgrade or a downgrade relatively to your current pics in your profile. Maybe you already have a better hiking pic? And how...
@mikkel I actually like the third one. Lighting and camera angle are on point, the composition is nice, and the pose doesn't feel too forced like in the second one. I'd say it's usable as a hiking pic yeah.
Great idea! You should try to get a better shot with your eyes clearly visible. On the ones you already have, I think your facial expression is a bit off. Your eyes are too wide open, you should squich a bit. Also, I would try to display a smirk maybe, and try both direct eye contact with the...
My personal opinion on Freiburg
Hey guys,
So, I just thought of giving a quick opinion on Freiburg, as it's the city picked for this project. Last time I went there was almost 8 years ago. It was during winter and I stayed with friends from Switzerland there to celebrate New Year's eve 2017...
Well, it's not an easy work to do it yourself. It's about taking a lot of pictures till you get a few usable. Walking or doing something instead of posing is the obvious answer but it's hard to frame yourself with a tripod if you're moving.
If you have the money, you can hire a dating profile...
@Maedoster Well, you have a lot of room for improvement indeed. Firstly, you should avoid mirror selfies as they're cheap and never make you look great.
I'd say your current best pic is the shirtless one on the beach, it's a pity it too staged, but for now it should be your first pic.
Overall...
@Bman @ThelegendofJ Thanks for your comments, and yeah maybe the watermark is covering a bit too much surface on the pics indeed haha. The reason why I watermarked the pics is because of the guarantee I offer to my customers: they only have to pay if they're happy with the result. A 100% money...
JPEG is the obvious answer when the export is final (and not meant to be imported in another editing software, in that case you would prefer lossless formats like TIF). Yeah it's a lossy format, but that's the point of JPEG, keeping less data than lossless formats with minimal to none visual...
What's your goal with photography? Do you want to join the club of dating profile photographers?
Well, firstly, why did you export in PNG? It's an extremely inefficient format for photos.
About your edits, I would advise you to not overdo it. It's a common newbie mistake to overedit the pics...
Last pic is good, and it's your best, so it should be your first pic IMO.
The rest is okayish, but there's a lot of room for improvement:
The hat pic would be better with a cleaner or more interesting background. Also IDK if that hat is really good "fashion wise".
The tennis pic could be nicer...
