Which perfumes do you get the best feedback for?

Also, to answer the initial question, I ever only received one compliment on my frags. In my late 20s, was walking on the street on my way to a date, a college girl passed me by jogging and let out a "you smell nice!" Core memory lol.

The frag was A*Men Pure Havane by Thierry Mugler. I now find it too sweet and got other preferred tobacco frags like Tom Ford's Tobacco Oud or Kerosene's Broken Theories. But Pure Havane was my second frag ever so bit of sentimental value.

I've been searching forums and youtube for perfumes like an autist for the last 2-3 weeks and went to perfume shops to try out fragrances many times haha.

To sum up, I would say there are safe fragrances and some that are a bit polarising, especially the sweeter fragrances.

Some women go for sweeter or powdery fragrances like Dior Homme Intense, Prada L'Homme, Le Male Le Parfum/Elexir, Armani - Stronger With You. Others don't find them masculine.

Safe fragrances are probably things like Sauvage, Bleu de Chancel EdT/EdP, Acqua di Giò Profumo Terre d'Hermès Hermès and so on, so masculine but not too masculine smelling fragrances.

In the end, a signature fragrance makes sense instead of having 100 bottles at home like a freak.

I've tried a tonne of fragrances and Tom Ford ones seem to get the best feedback - particularly Noir Extreme, Oud Wood and Tobacco Vanilla

Sale arrived and bought Armani Stronger With You, Absolutely. Damn this smells good lol. Friend of mine said this is for winter/autumn.

Does that actually matter that much? I would prefer to use same fragrance always. Without this thread I would not overthink this but here I am

Kinda.

It just suits better night/cold weather.
That is a fact considering how that fragrance smells.
But who gives a fuck at the end of the day.

I used it in the summer too while wearing hoodies during the evening.
And got a compliment on how good that hoodie smelled. By some girl who found it on a table.

There are much less versatile fragrances than this one.
Like if you put a lot of Eros on yourself and then went to the office lol.

I know the perfume, it is a gourmand, aka with “food” scents. In this case more in the direction of vanilla, toffee, rum and so on. That works in the winter, but would make me want to vomit in the summer.
I like these strong gourmands, but I don't know if they're something for every day use. Tested a few. Yes, smells special, but at some point it started to annoy me.

After countless tests on my skin over the last few weeks and reviews online, I got the Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Le Parfum.
Will be my signature scent until spring. For me the perfect mix of sweet, spicy and woody, well balanced for me. I like the smell on myself a lot.

Small insider tip if you want something unique but almost every woman likes it. It is from Armaf: Club de Nuit - Intense Man. Or better: Urban Man Elixir

It is similar to Dior Sauvage. But has a special note to it which makes it stand out. Also it is extremely cheap in comparison to bigger brands. You can also look at Reviews on YouTube for it. Sometimes there are also other Dupes (Duplicates) of other famous fragrances which are really good. I prefer them over the original ones because they are more uncommon (you never buy popular perfume again if you heard the phrase: "You smell really good, but my ex-boyfriend had the same perfume").

I got to say that I never spray fragrance straight to my chest/neck or whatever. Its just too much and smelling it yourself 24/7 too gets annoying. I shoot once to my finger or to a piece of paper and then massage it little bit to my neck and chest/collar of my shirt.

Doing it like this, I dont bother others with the smell, Im not getting annoyed myself. And when girl gets close, usually their reaction is "oh wow, you smell good", they get surprised.

What do you guys think of doing your own perfumes in these kind of mix shops? My friend wife just showed perfume which she mixed in a shop. I didn't know these kind of places exist.

That one is reaaaaally frag dependent. Some frags you spray once on your neck and the whole room fills with it. Others you cover yourself with 15 sprays and only the girl in your arms will smell it. Keep in mind the eau de toilette < eau de parfum < elixir concentration ladder.

My rule of thumb is to start with 3 sprays (just one if the frag is an elixir), ask a friend whether they can smell your frag, and if not add 3 sprays until people standing next to you pick your scent.

At this point you're doing it for yourself, not for the girls. Same as layering (spraying different frags on top of one another). Nothing wrong with that, it's fun, but strictly from a seduction POV it's not any better than buying off the shelf.

As far as I know, Armaf: Club de Nuit - Intense Man is an extremely good and significantly cheaper Aventus Creed clone. I have a sample of the Armaf at home. Like Sauvage or Bleu de Chanel, it goes in this fresh, citrus, woody, smoky, masculine direction. As I said, Bleu de Chanel is the perfume that I was asked about the most, I personally think these types of scents are good and versatile, but I don't enjoy them for myself like something sweet and spicy for example Tom Ford noir Extreme, JPG Le Male Elexir.

I definitely let my dates do perfume tests on me haha. In the end it's also a type thing.

Damn, that sounds damn interesting, I'll have to see if I have something like that near my city.

Edit: I took a look and there are seminars and kits for mixing at home. Sounds fun and also a cool gift for someone, thanks buddy.

How do you define from this paragraph which is for warm weather and which is for cold?

Also which is more sweeter and which one is more "normal" ?

Went to the gym and realized armani absolutely is not for warm weather lol. I dont use perfumes for gym but still had leftover on me.

Also at the club couple days ago, a guy walked past me and his perfume smelled good and "masculine". If I could descripe this kind of smell, it feels and smells fresh and cold. I want something like this for myself too.

Rule of thumb is, perfumes with deep scents like wood, whisky, tobacco, leather, are good for cold weather, whereas perfumes with sharp scents like citrus, marine and herbal are good for hot weather. The idea is that deep scents on hot weather can mix up with the deep scent of your own warming sweaty body and start smelling moldy, whereas sharp scents without strong deep base will be hard to catch in cold weather. There's also the basic mental associations, like marine scents makes you think of the sea, a typically summer place.

Websites like fragrantica and parfumo (all the way at the bottom of the page) also give you a democratic vote on which season the frag is for, see attachment for example:

Quick update. Used Armani Absolutely couple times at work, couple times at nightlife and today at work I started to feel really uncomfortable with the smell. Instead of going to gym after work, I drove fast as I could to my home and ripped off my clothes, couldnt stand the smell at all anymore.

Its way too "heavy" and I only sprayed it to piece of paper and tapped it to my neck and shirt.

I like the after smell in my clothes after several days but otherwise, its way too much for my nose.

So conclusion is that "heavy" smells are not for me. I want something fresh, more subtle and year around fragrance. Its getting cold asf here but I dont care, I want fresh. Lots of suggestions here but umm...from the suggestions here, what are fresh ones and more subtle?

It is a gourmand fragrance. I tested some of the Stronger With You's on my skin in a shop (test strips don't make any sense anyway). At the beginning a gourmand smells delicious, but at some point it just smells annoying. A bakery certainly smells good, but all day long? Every day? Not for me.
That's why you should also apply a perfume to your skin in order to take it "home", to give the scent time and not just to smell the top notes on paper.

Fresher scents with which you will never make a mistake, but maybe not outstanding are: Bleu de Chanel EDP, Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême, Acqua di Gio by Giorgio Armani, Versace Dylan Blue, Issey Miyake L' Eau d'Issey Pour Homme. Maybe Louis Vuitton Imagination if you want to spend 300€$.

Otherwise, my absolute recommendation JPG Le male le parfum. I love it, not fresh, but not gourmand either. I have now done several perfume tests with women on my skin. Le Male le parfum has always won, even against bangers like Naxos, The One, BDC, La Nuit de l'homme, Sauvage.

It's best to run to the perfumery and spray something on your hands and wrists, take it home, do this a few times with different ones and find what you like. Or buy samples online.

On my side Tom Ford fragrances have consistently got the best feedback especially Oud Wood, Tobacco Vanilla, Noir Extreme, finding a good dupe is a good option for these 2 as they are pretty overpriced.

Imo shower gel is nearly as important as your fragrance, I've found using Aesop body cleanser with their insanely good scents combined very well. Although expensive, 2 pumps of it are enough to cover entire body so it doesn't work out too bad and makes you smell insane.

Bought Louis Vuitton Imagination and Armaf: Club de Nuit - Intense Man samples, will test those when those arrive.

Meanwhile today I sprayed JPG le male parfum to my wrist and this is really good! Much more gentle but still not sure if this one is too "heavy" as well. Also inside the shop there was group of youngsters figuring out if they should buy that haha, damn it!

Sprayed Acqua di Gio by Giorgio Armani to my left wrist and like you said, very basic. I like this one too tho! Not bad at all. Makes me feel fresh.

Lets see what I decide after samples.

Noir Extreme is definitely a banger, I love the opening. I was torn between this and Le Male Le Parfum. There was a good offer for the latter so I took it.

I'll take a look at this Aesop body cleanser, very expensive holy shit. But you would say it's worth it? Not too much smell when you have that and a perfume?

Yes, heavier and something for the cold season and evening. Is my date fragrance, it's well received and I love it too.

I have now reduced the topic to three scents for this fall/winter.

Work/Office: Prada L'Homme - Clean and soapy, not too loud, nothing special to be honest, which means perfect for work. Fragrances that are too extreme would be bad in office i guess.

Dates: JPG Le Male Le Parfum and YSL La Nuit De L'Homme - They are both bangers and are extremely well received and i enjoy them for myself a lot too. The second one has to be sprayed more times it's not as strong and doesn't last as long. But who has an 8-hour date? Should be fine.

Noir Extreme is definitely a banger, I love the opening.
For anybody considering buying, I remember smelling a difference between the eau de parfum and parfum (black vs. gold flask, the latter being more concentrated), eventually deciding for the parfum. Check both out in case.

I really love their Coriander body cleanser, but by the time I'm putting clothes on the scent is gone. It's more a shower experience rather than a body scent. Unless you're dating a bloodhound.

Received Louis Vuitton Imagination and Armaf: Club de Nuit - Intense Man samples, both were horrible haha.

Armaf had really strong citrus smell and Imagination smelled like my grandparents toilet. I really notice now that perfumes are unique for everyone, so reading reviews is not kinda worth it, you have to try them yourself. I gave both of them couple hours to settle down.

Its been a week now and I can still smell JPG le male parfum from my jacket sleeve when I test sprayed it to my wrist. So that one is strong at least.

Now that @Hedon mentioned shower gels, I think for me, I would prefer to smell clean and nice with hair products and thats it. Perfumes are too strong, I dont like the idea of other ppl smelling me far away. Also I think clothes detergent plays big role how you smell.

Damn haha, noses are so different, the Louis Vuitton Imagination is the best rated one on parfumo:

Don't you like the drydown at Armaf? The opening isn't as good, but the drydown is 1:1 like creed.

If you like the Le Male Le Parfum, just get it. I have now done several tests with several women now and it has always been the most popular among women compared to other very good fragrances and I love the scent myself too.
