Living the dream/ Phase 1 This guy figured it out

Very good practice. I've added some more acoustic stuff in and the breadth of playing seems to be helping the depth of the tougher pieces.
Used more nicotine gum, really relaxes me too.
Got a bit crazy at the end playing very fast and some sections actually held together.
Small gains are compounding.
Days like this feel like I'll have everything ready to record by the weekend but it's quite cyclical.
Got to be able to play these on my worst days too

Look at this fucking guy with his autism tier YouTube branding

"AV-pw5rf"

And then he wonders why he isn't closing guitar students into his program

MOGGED!

😆 This is my dumping ground account because I couldn't upload random clips to here easily.

I want to put much more polished stuff on a proper YouTube channel and these songs aren't at that level yet.

LOL alright mate well enjoy your "dumping ground"

I reckon you can make great money teaching guitar online, possibly as part of a group program

Practice done last night.
I got distracted by a late night booty call though.
The Norwegian girl messaged me out of the blue saying she had had a few drinks with friends and wanted to 'cuddle' lol
Interesting that this came through a month or two after me saying I wanted something casual.

Getting up at five this morning though has fucked me up and her messages distracted me during practice. Told her weekends are best for me now.
I've also logged out of the apps and turned notifications off.

@MakingAComeback I hear you and I'm gonna iterate and improve but for these two songs I'm aiming a level of polish I've never achieved before and they're not ready yet.

Practice was actually pretty good considering. Got a bit hazy at the end though and struggled to concentrate.

Made a tough decision today and told my friend group I'm going teetotal. Means I won't go to the Halloween party's this year but I also won't be encouraged to get shit faced either. They're great people but the only social event they do is heavy drinking

Solid practice in the books. Getting close to sprinting at these songs over the weekend to see the quality I can get

Double session weekend done.
I'm making glacial progress.
Saw a video today of an amazing guitarist learning a very difficult song, he said it took him a year to get it perfect.
I think these two might take me another month.

Going to take a week off work end of Nov and do double practice days for 9 consecutive days, see how good I can get in that time.

Otherwise getting more well-rounded is gonna go up in importance. That'll be playing with other people again and singing while playing.

Enjoying the nicotine gum, significantly reduces the constant stream of horseshit running through my mind. I want more focus, If I can extend the amount of time I can stay dialled in on what I'm doing I can get much more meaningful repetitions in.

I'm in two minds whether to get a better job, it's not my goal but I'm finding work very boring.

£80 an hour is really good, I have the time to put a set list together now I'm not working too.
Was it hard to get a busking license in London?
Just seen this! And no license was needed.

I reckon it’d suit you. Really, you can do literally anything, you don’t even have to interact with audience and they still will give you some money. Like if I needed to practice a new song I’d just play it on loop badly for hours.

Man sometimes I miss the days of just going out busking, hit the corner on lec square trying to wrestle off hen dos at 10pm on a Friday night. Off to Cardiff for whatever rugby game was on, often given tickets for free by folk walking past. Or the fringe in midsummer, full chaos. Top adventure.

Money wise it can be decent if you’re smart about it - I am not exaggerating with £80 being possible hourly - though there is competition for the highest earning spots and usually a queue. I know a boy who bought a house in cash solely with the proceeds of a few years travelling on the festival busking circuits between Europe/usa/aus. I used to get loads of gigs booked from it as well, birthdays/bar mitzvah’s/corporate stuff etc as people hear you walking past and even if half of them don’t like it, you only need some.

By smart about it I mean think about the image etc, the emotions you evoke. there’s a strong overlap with picking up women as you try to make people feel like they want to give you money.

If you do go lmk and I can provide more specifics/the dark arts! And put a few pound coins and a fiver in the case to start it off - psychologically people follow what everyone gave before.

Sluggish practice completed.
Chipping away, Rylynn is getting there, it's about .5% closer every day.
A week off at the end of November is gonna be good just to see how much faster I can progress with full immersion.

@Antonio44 that sounds like a blast! Definitely something I'd like to do once I've put a set list together.

Good workout and good practice today.
Rylynn is close to complete now

It's mechanically there but it's written about someone's daughter and I want it to capture the spirit of that.
Something's broken in the microphone/pickup in my classical guitar so I'll have to sort this out before I can really play with the dynamics and get some better tones out of it.
Also needs a little more speed upon re-listening.
Should sound mellifluous.

Good diet, better sleep, staying consistent.

Added this guy's methods into my sessions too:

Three hour session turned into 1 and a half. My brain was fried today, everything felt sluggish.
I'm getting a snow-blindness issue where I've repeated the same patterns so many times my brain switches off.
Same thing as repeating a mantra too many times where you almost forget the words and just see it as a whole.
This makes it difficult to single out problem areas.

Also feeling drained, probably from the gym.

My current options are to:
-Introduce some new songs that I can learn relatively easy but will break things up and relegate the challenging ones to slowly working on them but not doing anything crazy
-Work part-time somewhere to free up more energy to focus on practicing
-realise I'm two months into something I thought would probably take me 6

Finding a classical guitar teacher is a good move as they have experience with this niche and the problems I'm running into.

I'll contact the agency and book this holiday too
