What to look for when buying a camera?

Hey guys. I'm about to buy a Canon M50 with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. Since the camera and lens are not new, the seller told me to visit the store and take a look at them before buying.

What should I look for as I inspect the camera to ensure the camera will help me take quality photos?

Thanks in advance.

From the top of my head I'd look into:

How old is it? Warranty still valid? Has he got receipts in case it breaks down for some reason?

Does the lens come with filters? Glass filters / UV filters mainly help protect the surface of the lens - avoiding scratches etc that can be a small pain in the ass to have to remove in post.

Does it come with extra batteries, and SD card etc?

I don't know the M50 but from the looks of it, it's got what you (imo) should be most concerned about if you plan on shooting yourself: face tracking auto focus.

I bought a used M50 and 50mm from Canon's refurbished website. I highly recommend it because they inspect their cameras and give you a one-year warranty.
