What I highly recommend you do is go to the most expensive barbers you can, and speak to them about it. Tell them vaguely what you want, but let them decide whats best.

I'm guessing you live somewhere near Manchester, If so, go to Sergeant Caesar Barbershop in the Arndale. Best haircut and beard trim I have every had.
