Picture Feedback Megathread

The poolshot is badass! Really love that one.
The other ones feel slightly overposed. Qualitywise they are perfect tho.
But the next time try to get them to feel more authentic. What you can do is for example:
The barshot (pint): Have someone else sitting in front of you and start chatting, just a bit more expressive than you usually do.
Cityshots: Try walking towards the camera and mix your emotions from happy to the I'm gonna fuck you face (didn't know how to explain this one normally).
The barshot (matcha?): Try the movement of taking a sip while spotting something outside.

The little takeaway: Try adding something where you are actually doing something (like with the poolphoto) so it feels way more natural.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I have a whole bunch of variants, like these ones:

And a few walking pics too, exactly like you suggest:
walk_c.jpgwalk_b.jpgwalk_a.jpg
The problem, of course, is that taking these pics really is just random, and these feel a bit bland or have some flaws, like my hair not cooperating. And when I start talking memes happen:

Ah, seems all the pics were dropped. Here are the photos. @Lord Rey took them. Maybe I'm a newbie, but I really think he did well.

Here's the "other one".

Not bad! Obv I don't like the selfie, but you know that already.

One thing I will say is you have 3 photos where you're looking directly at the camera... the beer one, the sitting with the pastry one, and the standing one.

Of the 3, the beer one looks the most natural for you to look into the camera... the cafe one would be perfect if you were looking back over your shoulder - would switch up the intensity and make it feel more candid.

You standing, looking at the camera isn't a good pose most of the time... I'd rather see you in motion, walking, looking slightly off to the side, like this one I took a while back:

@Lord Rey has been putting in the reps and I can see he's getting good. Aside from the posing choices I just shared, I can nitpick and offer more but they're good.

Thanks for the tips! Funny thing, the cafe photo was taken by my brother. We tried to recreate a MagicFox pic and looking at it now, he's actually taking the pose you describe. Lesson learned for the future

The extra cafe ones... you have a smirk on your face that comes across as cheesy. Don't be afraid to practice in a mirror... facial expressions are hard to nail, but once you practice, you're golden.

The walking pics - the sunlight is in a very harsh angle and overly lights your face. I often like the sun behind a client, or behind their shoulder

Good example of lighting behind but at an angle ^

Play with where the lighting is and you can make magic happen.

Back with another try at getting a good shirtless shot. These were the best from the shoot, the main issues I can think of are lighting (tried to optimize this) and tourists in the background. Any of these pics good for Tinder? Thanks

None of these are great. The last one is the least worst but the pose just isn't that good and you don't actually look that ripped. It's usable but not going to move the needle.

Yeah, I am actually not ripped right now. Do you think Ill be better off using one of these older ones? Especially since I have a different haircut now.

Of course. I had no idea that was what you were trying to replace.

I think you're going about this building profile thing wrong. You keep posting random vacation shots taken by amateurs, meanwhile you have professional photos on your current profile. It's basically impossible to beat professional shots.

Felt like the professional shots came off as a bit staged so my approach was to replace them with actual travel shots, but thats good to know!

Having some sort of appearance crisis here. Bought this necklace a year ago, cuz I thought it was cool and it looked cool on Daniel Mason (ofc lol).

But now I'm starting to think...is this actually cringe? It makes me wonder if other people (especially girls) think that I'm shallow and dont have anything else to offer so I have to compromise it with big ass jewelry.

I bought my first earrings on december so that adds too. Having some crisis with those as well cuz I dont want to come ass feminine...

Anyways, thoughts to this necklace stuff?IMG-20240528-WA0014(1).jpg

I have all kinds of jewelry. Because of my beard, some are even pretty long. I'll deck out hands with rings on almost every finger. I have a pair of earrings that have some pretty big (fake) diamonds.

I never used to wear any of that though. It takes awhile for your self perception to update itself that you are now the type of person that wears those kinds of things.

They add a lot to your appearance. They draw attention. They give the perception that you are someone who is confident enough to draw attention to yourself.

Having a touch of femininity to an otherwise masculine appearance makes you intriguing. One of the reasons I grew my hair out so long.

So own it. Give yourself time to be comfortable wearing it. Listen for when you get compliments on your appearance.

Would appreciate some feedback on my current profile. It did me just fine while travelling around Asia/LatAm, but now that I'm back home, I'm not getting any bites.

Go on boys, tear me a new one.

@Sparkles Well, the quality of your first 3 pics is technically great, but they're too repetitive. You give that "nerdy-businessman" vibe which can be okay for some girls, but I don't think it's an archetype really in demand. Although I think the first pic is really good.
Not a fan of the 4th pic, you look like an Eurovision singer lmao, so not masculine at all.
The last pic is okay in my books, as it's hard to pull off a great social pic.

Overall, you lack activity pics and I would think about developing another archetype if I was in your shoes. Good luck!

@Sparkles

1r is great. Keep it.

3r is pretty decent. It's model posed, which is not that much of a problem if you have a dynamic profile. I have a few model posed ones.

2 is ok. It's got a nice smile.

Get rid of 5 - you don't look good in that photo. I'd also get rid of 4, but I'm not a "funny guy".

You could most certainly use a couple edgier pictures which would give you a more well balanced profile. The good ones I mentioned before give you a boyfriend/provider vibe. Now you need ones that give you a sexual threat vibe.

@Lord Rey @Bman appreciate the feedback. I see my photos are lacking "edge".

I went through my files and found a bunch of potential photos. Can you please let me know if you see any standouts here that would be worth considering?

I know I need to work on taking better photos, but I won't have an opportunity to do this in the near future.

@Sparkles I like the 14 because it feels more candid, but overall even if most of these pics are good from a photographic perspective, they still frame you as the "nerdy-businessman". What you need is more something like 17 and 18 but in higher quality and better framed.
