Sup’ playas,

It’s been a year plus since my last post on this forum and a lot has changed.

I've finally got my career, finances, and living situation handled for the time being. I’m currently in a city of several million people, and I’m planning to go hard in this part of my life.

This thread will be dedicated to logging my daily approaches. I’ll detail my actual lays in another report in case you guys want to see the juicy stuff.

You can find that here: https://winnerwith.in/threads/indian-losers-lay-reports.4607/#post-141284

I’ve already posted a few lays from last year on there.

The plan today was to get outside and do 10 approaches after work. As soon as I got outside, my heart started beating out of my chest, and I realized I was way too nervous to do 10 cold approaches after several years of not doing ANY cold approaches.

Lesson 1: Set the bar low

I decided to set the bar lower and try to get some momentum going. Instead of cold approaching, I thought it would be reasonable to ask 3 people for directions.

Now, this sounds like it should be easy, but I felt a ton of anxiety even doing this! I forgot how hard cold approach can be.

Approach 1:

I asked some random dude which direction Yonge Street was.

Approach 2:

I asked some random girl which way the university is.

Approach 3:

I asked two random girls which way the university is.

Lesson 2: Have a game plan

Before going out every day, I need to come up with a list of challenging but doable tasks while I try to ramp up here to approaching more regularly. I’ll use this thread to do that.

Lessons:
  1. Set the bar low
  2. Have a gameplan/goals to work towards so you while you’re out you:
    1. Don’t wander aimlessly
    2. Feel like you’re working towards something

Positives:
  • I took a first huge step in a journey I’m very excited about
  • I pivoted when my initial goal wasn’t achievable

Challenges for tomorrow:

  • While walking to work, ask 5 people for directions to somewhere. 3 of them have to be women.

  • Ask 1 girl to take her headphones off and ask her for directions (there are so many girls in this city with headphones in).
Bonus:
  • Tell one girl you like something she’s wearing.
