Hey fellas, been thinking about taking a trip to Bali. But I've seen that the Indonesian government have passed new laws outlawing premarital sex, with a penalty of 1 year imprisonment:

Obviously I would like to be able to hookup with girls (tourists and locals) while I'm there, and not worry about being locked away. And yes, tourists have been imprisoned (and even executed) in Indonesia for breaking local laws:

So, does this mean hooking up in Bali is no longer worth the risk? Should I go somewhere like Thailand instead?

Some are saying the new laws won't practically affect tourists. This is probably true regarding hookups with e.g. other tourists, but I can see there might actually be a risk trying to hook up with local girls.

Agreed. I'd say go to Thailand instead.

I was in Canggu exactly when they passed this law
Nothing has changed, it’s like Dubai

Right, and it also said these laws won't take effect for three years, so I guess nothing's changed yet. I just feel a bit wary going somewhere which is basically becoming a Muslim theocracy. Not really conducive to having fun and hooking up IMO.

Mate if you're worried, don't go. It's clear from your message that you have already made up your mind that this is a bad option. So I have no clue why you created a thread. There are a bunch of other places to visit if you want to play dating on baby mode, pick one of them. Locking this.
