Picture Feedback Megathread

I have zero smiling photos in my profile.

1. Did a little photoshoot and one smiling photo came out from it too. Usable?

2. First time using oversized t-shirt. Girl Im seeing says it looks really good but oh man I dont feel good with it, because I think its too big in size? Not sure. Its same size as my normal t-shirts.

Style is good but the smiling looks very forced, maybe salvageable with faceapp.

Not too bad. The background could be more interesting... the smile is more of a smirk. I like it though, I just wouldn't call it a smile. Not everyone has a photogenic smile, and it is a hard skill to learn. If you're really wanting a good smile photo, practice in the mirror and find things that make you laugh. Faking a smile when you don't feel it is very difficult, it's much easier to actually feel like you want to smile and then capture it, than to fake it without the feeling.

i think that pic is closer to a squinch than a smile, for my smile pics i try to do something in the pic where it makes sense to smile e.g. being with an animal etc. makes it seem less forced and posed, for the smile you gotta use the facial muscles and open up mouth more, show teeth, just think of something funny, laugh, then take picture

@Bigtexxn @MILFandCookies

Interesting that you guys said that it doesnt count as smile. Then I would say that, I have zero smirk photos in my profile haha.

And thats actually what I want. If smile is counted as big wide smile (for someone even teeth can be seen), then I wouldnt even want a smile photo to my profile. I want at least one smirk/squinched smile photo.

I was actually genuinely smirking there (the girl who took the photo said something dumb), but it felt tensed, because I was still posing for photos.

Did a photoshoot with @Lord Rey ,here is his work:

Would very much appreciate feedback on what pics to use (file name can be found in the properties) for OLD. One pic of each scene. Hopefully these make a difference to my OLD results

Hard to discern which are best with the watermarks. But definitely one of the standing ones next to the bar with a drink in hand. For the van, choose one standing next to it and can still see inside a bit. I'd skip the gym ones, but if you use one, I like the shoulder press ones the best. The beach ones def look like a model shot, just use one of the ones where it looks like you're walking. Skateboard and guitar ones, no preference.

High quality work @Lord Rey!

Jeez what a big watermark hahaha! Quality wise all the pictures are very good.
For the gym series, I think I would use the shoulderpress ones.

For the guitar series, I would pick the one where you are genuinly smiling, I would, if you have the chance, retake it tho so that there are people in in the foreground blurred out, makes it more of a social picture.
Same reason why I wouldn't pick a picture from the bar, it looks a bit to staged for me as there are no people there, so I wouldn't really use them.

Beach:
A bunch of good ones you can select, take the ones where you walk naturally out of the water.

Skating:
Most of them look actually pretty good, select the one you like the most.

Van:
I get that considering your lifestyle, you kinda want to add it to your profile, but I wouldn't include them.
I don't think those will give you more matches, but I might be wrong about it.

Anyway, plenty here to build a killer profile.

But got to say, very good work from both you @Spazdig and @Lord Rey !

@Bman @ThelegendofJ Thanks for your comments, and yeah maybe the watermark is covering a bit too much surface on the pics indeed haha. The reason why I watermarked the pics is because of the guarantee I offer to my customers: they only have to pay if they're happy with the result. A 100% money back guarantee in sum. So obviously, I have to watermark the pics to show them to my customers so they can decide if they want them or not.

Also, I tested a few pics on Photofeeler, but it seems this website either has lost a big part of the female user base, or they have made big changes to their algorithm, because it takes forever to get votes now (even if paid)...

Edit: Photofeeler pics deleted on Spazdig request.

Overall, I'm glad with the results of this shooting. There are a few things I would have done differently. For example, I wish we could have moved the van to a more interesting place to take wider shots with a nice background, and I wish we could have taken advantage of the golden hour for some of the outdoor pics, but yeah we can't always have the perfect conditions for everything. In any case, I'm sure these pics can provide more matches for @Spazdig.

Hey guys,
these are the pics I use on my OLD accounts, they get me some matches but I think there's still plenty of room to improve.
Let me know what you think about them ;)

Good looking dude, terrible photos.

No bathroom selfies.

No sunglasses for a portrait shot like that. They are fine of being worn in a walking/ lifestyle type photo because your fashion/body is the focus in those photos.

Your physique is good and the beach ones ok. You really only need 1 shirtless pic though.

I'd focus on getting 1 really good headshot photo for a lead photo. Not close up where it's just the head, but includes some torso with good fashion.

The other photos should be lifestyle photos where you are wearing good fashion, in interesting locations, possibly doing an interesting activity that tells them about your personality.

@Maedoster Well, you have a lot of room for improvement indeed. Firstly, you should avoid mirror selfies as they're cheap and never make you look great.

I'd say your current best pic is the shirtless one on the beach, it's a pity it too staged, but for now it should be your first pic.

Overall, you need more diversity in your pictures. Show activities, maybe a social pic, and maybe a video if you have something interesting.

Good luck!

Thanks guys, I'll try to work with that and get better pictures.
My main problem is that I'm usually the photographer and none of my friends know how to take a proper picture ahahah, that and I get all embarassed if I notice someone is photographing me and it becomes incredibly staged and embarassing.
What could I do to make the photos look more natural and not like they are from a photoshot? Even when using a tripod and camera on myself?

Well, it's not an easy work to do it yourself. It's about taking a lot of pictures till you get a few usable. Walking or doing something instead of posing is the obvious answer but it's hard to frame yourself with a tripod if you're moving.

If you have the money, you can hire a dating profile photographer. Otherwise you need to teach your friends to be patient with the camera and take the time to shoot you 100s of pics.

Of course, firstly you should think about what do you want to show in your profile, what vibe you want to give, what activities, what locations, etc.

Hello gents (probably), would love some constructive criticism here. The main profile picture is me in white shirt alone.

Purty solid, especially the first 2 pics
I can’t tell wtf is going on in either of the 2 social pics though, I would probably lose those if you have anything you can replace them with

So, went out today to get a good head and torso picture to use as a lead on OLD with my trusty fujifilm xt20. Had lots, lots of photos (and I mean it, lots) and I really like this one. My style is quite punky looking. I hate using a tripod ahahaha.
Tell me what you think about it :)

Hey guys,
spent the last few weeks searching for some pics to revamp my OLD profile, let me know if it's better, what can I improve, etc...
Hopefully I made some progress (seeing a bit more likes than before, but I'm still not satisfied).

Hi guys, not been having quite as much success on tinder etc as I would have liked. What do you think of my photos. Should I include the one with my white shirtFaceApp_1673194935710.jpg20230927_111148.jpg

1st one isn't a bad start! Expression could be better. That one would work better looking away IMO.

Shirtless one, doesn't work for me. Could we do that again in a more natural setting, like a gym?

Good effort - keep it up!
