Picture Feedback Megathread

For some reason even though these pictures don't feel too different to me (minus the hair) the first scored way higher on Photofeeler than the second. The first pic scored an 8.7 at 20 votes meanwhile the second is sitting at 6.7 at 16.

I want to use the second as a replacement since the first i may never be able to use again due to my banned profile having that pic even w/ metadata deletion and slight rotation.

Which one do you guys prefer? I know neither is perfect so I am just trying to have a solid base.

The hair adds so much in the first and you look more alpha. But the second one is fine.

The male gaze is not the female gaze. Women really give a shit about a guy's hair and the emotional tone of his look. The first pic with the shaved sides makes you look edgy, while the second makes you look normal, so the first is way better.

I have two shirtless photos from Mexico, which one do you think is better for Instagram + possibly a dating app. I definitely don't want to post both, otherwise it will quickly seem tryhard.

Its fair I don't mind people saying the first is better. If Loki's guide is right I can just upload the second as a temporary replacement and eventually swap it out for the first one once I am in the clear.

EDIT: The second pic topped out at 7.5 with the same amount of votes as the first, so I guess I have my answer.

Heya, been a while for photos.
Went out with a friend and managed to take some shots as the last minutes of the golden hour were fading away.
These will be used for online dating, wouldn't mind using some for IG but still lack a direction for that so I'm leaving it for the future.
Photos shot with an iPhone (not Pro) so can't really access the RAW files (fuck Apple but that's another issue).

P.S. The 4th one is my favorite.

I like the "pose" in the 3rd one but your background isn't good so I personally wouldn't use any of these. Try to get a street or just some good looking background because a boring wall just kinda makes it more obvious you posed for this shot.

1 is way better, also mix the pose up when holding the camera, both hands in front of you in small body language. Hold the camera with one hand

Is it only a background issue as GN44 mentioned or is there anything else I can do to spice them up a bit?

I agree about the background but if I gotta choose one, also the 3rd photo

Thx guys!

@brohankwon what is the reaction to the previous pictures, since they have +- a similar vibe? Greetings to Hamburg, I am also from Germany.

First ever photoshoot

Facial expressions look a bit sad, but lighting and fashion is on point.

https://killyourinnerloser.com/forums/download/file.php?id=14847&mode=view is your clear best for a first shot.

This!

Pictures always transport a vibe, whether that corresponds to reality or not doesn't matter, that's how it resonates with the viewer. And your facial expression doesn't say anything good sadly.
Book a new shooting and smile a little, this neutral “model” look is not good for everyone. The new pics will be awesome, i am sure.

it’s a bit embarassing to have to ask this but how do i not look sad in photos.

I can’t smile voluntarily - it doesn’t look good. I tried not looking sad; i have no clue how to.

Should i try faceapping / photoshopping the expressions?

Even if you're not aiming for a smile in the photo, try smiling first to loosen up your face. Think of something that actually makes you amused and makes your eyes and mouth both smile and warm the face muscles up a bit. Then go for neutral.

Mirror practice: assuming you can already hit non-sad-looking expressions while looking at the mirror, the next step is: turn away from the mirror, attempt to make the face you want, turn back to the mirror. In your particular pictures some things that make them look sad are downturned mouth corners and paranoid-looking eyes, so experiment with targeting those elements specifically.

You also get some +NotSad points if you look at the camera (but don't turn your face all the way to the camera).

And if you're doing multi-location photoshoots, bring at least different shirts for photo variety.

The bridge+skyline is a pretty cool background.

Got it; i have photoshoot booked in 2 weeks time. Buying another outfit too; gonna practice having better facial expressions.

I’d hate to just have these photos be useless though; what photos are usable - and if possible can somebody give a rating out of 10 for them?

Yes, do that. A few of the photos are solid, JUST the facial expressions aren't good. I just tried it, have a look (just PM me, if you want the pics to be deleted):
